Vitamin Supplements
There are thousands of nutritional supplements available to assist in health. They consist of combinations of vitamins, herbs, amino acids, minerals, homeopathic, etc.
Often the underlying cause of a metabolic imbalance or nutritional deficiency is actually toxins that interfere with normal metabolic or enzymic activity at the cellular level. When the toxins are removed, normal health can return without supplements, just utilizing good food as a nutrient source. Organic foods are essential following a fast, as much commercial food is stripped of micro-nutrients.
When the correct herb or vitamin is used, they can work wonders, eliminating the need for medications or even surgery.
However, many times they’re not the correct remedy or not needed by the body and can actually create health issues. Or when they are the correct supplement, but they are utilized for too long of a period of time, they can become ineffective or create a toxicity.
Fasting is an approach to health that utilizes the bodies innate wisdom, as opposed to trying to correct certain metabolic processes through drugs or nutritional supplements. While those can be helpful, they are not utilized in a fast. After the fast, any supplements used will be more effective.
At Yellowstone Peaks we will look at your supplements you are using and determine what is the best course moving forward after the fast, but no supplements are used on the fast.
The goal is to allow the body to self-heal. It uses current nutritional reserves while fasting, which last for at least a month in the average person, before any deficiencies would show.
