How does fasting help with healing?

Fasting is a process whereby the body goes through very predictable reactions when food intake is stopped. When a person cuts a finger, the body repairs the cut in that finger. Have you ever heard of someone cutting a finger and the finger remains cut and bleeding, but a scab forms on the opposite finger? Of course not.

This illustrates the healing intelligence of the body. Daniel Palmer, founder of Chiropractic, called it the “Innate Intelligence” of the body. He always claimed he or chiropractic did not heal. He just removes barriers to the body healing itself though it’s Innate Intelligence.

This is what fasting does – it removes built up waste products and toxic-laden fats that are slowing down metabolism and reducing available energy, thus creating conditions for specific disease patterns to develop.

Unfortunately, much disease is looked on today as a shortage of medical care – drugs or surgery; the innate ability of the body to heal is ignored.

No matter what condition you are experiencing, fasting, along with appropriate treatments, will allow the body to repair itself to the greatest extent it can. There are many facets to any disease condition, and Yellowstone Peaks affords your body the ideal conditions and treatments to utilize one’s “inner doctor”, and to make lifestyle changes that will help maintain good health.

Some of the factors that play into chronic health challenges today include:

  • Nutrition – excess and/or poor quality

  • EMF exposure: Electromagnetic radiation from electronic devises

  • Poor sleep

  • Chemical toxins, particularly heavy metal toxicity

  • Microbiota decline: Poor intestinal health

  • Media (sensory) overload

  • Under or over exercise

  • Vaccinations

  • Medications

  • Viral infection

  • Excess supplement use

There are seven systems that keep your body functioning. Common conditions are listed here under the major systems that will be improved with fasting:

  1. Immune system: Viral infection fallout: Fatigue, lowered immunity, loss of smell, heart conditions.

  2. Nervous system (sensory): Vision, hearing, smell, taste, mental

  3. Digestive System: GERD, ulcers, constipation, irritable bowl, leaky gut, colitis.

  4. Endocrine system; Thyroid, blood sugar, reproductive.

  5. Musculoskeletal system: Arthritis, joint and muscle pain.

  6. Cardiovascular/circulatory: High blood pressure, various heart conditions.

Whatever the condition, the body will strive to correct it when given the proper fasting conditions. Rest is important during a fast. The YVH program strives to balance fasting with rest.

There are four types of rest – physical, mental, emotional, and sensory.

When the body is at rest, all of the energy flows inward for healing. It’s important not to overdo during a fast.

At Yellowstone Peaks, the environment is private and relaxed, and the views are stunning. Located in the Paradise Valley mountains north of Yellowstone Park, it is far removed from the bustling energies of the city. One is able to relax and unwind and experience a fasting process that can be life changing.
