Types of fasts
Fasting can be modified to suit the particular patients needs. There are several types of fasts, and each has a different emphasis and purpose. These can overlap.
Water fast
The water fast gives the “most bang for the buck”. It allows deep tissue cleansing and complete “reboot” of your bodies metabolic systems. Water fasting requires more careful supervision and care in breaking the fast.
Juice fast.
Juice fasts are beneficial when there are blood sugar issues or when more activity is necessary on a fast. The juice fast is strictly not a fast, it is a liquid diet. However, it brings some of the same benefits as water fasting. Juice fasting is utilized when certain medications or supplements are necessary. Juice fast can also be used to start and/or end a water fast.
Mono-diet.
Eating only one food over a period of time can result in detoxification while allowing more physical and mental activity. While not bringing the deeper level of healing that fasting does, it does provide the digestive system a partial rest and allows certain levels of detoxification. At Yellowstone Peaks, watermelon is used during the warm months, and short-grain brown rice are utilized during the cold months.
Spiritual fast
Fasting for increasing spiritual awareness and balance in the chakras (see section on chakras). The fasting experience is geared more toward spiritual upliftment and away from activities and input from the media and world news, etc., with the goal of overcoming negative and destructive habits, thoughts, and feelings. This is an individual choice of the faster. Yellowstone Peaks can provide specific exercise instruction for this type of fast, including healing affirmations, visualizations, meditation and Yoga. This type of fast can also be beneficial for overcoming addictions.
Event prep fast
Fasting always improves one’s appearance. After a good fast of at least five days, there is noticeable weight loss, reduction of facial puffiness, and disappearance of fine facial lines. A ten to twenty days fast result in remarkable noticeable improvement in appearance. people often comment that one looks years younger after a proper fast.
Fasting can be a great way to prep for social event such as weddings, professional photographs, and job interviews, etc. You will look and feel your best!
